Kentucky Path to College: A Bridging Research to Practice Event

Berea College, Berea, Kentucky

Through the lens of college readiness in Kentucky and with an emphasis on SB1, this event set context for exploring the evidence-based recommendations in the IES (Institute of Education Sciences) Practice Guide, Helping Students Navigate the Path to College: What High Schools Can Do. Participants compared current practices in their schools to the recommendations identified in the research and heard from Kentucky school practitioners as they shared their experiences in preparing all students for college. The day’s events were structures to balance expert perspective with school team reflection, sharing, and planning to boost college access and readiness work in Kentucky middle and high schools. EILA (Effective Instructional Leadership) credit was available.
